As long as both PC’s have SKYPE installed, you can talk to anyone, anywhere in the world for FREE!! (They also offer prepaid service to land lines and mobile phones that is usually much more reasonable than conventional phone charges.) It is easy to download and install for anyone, regardless of PC experience.
In addition, because of the exceptional sound quality, it’s the perfect fit for English Conversation Lessons over the telephone.
System Requirements for Using SKYPE

- 400 Mhz or faster processor (1Ghz or faster recommended)
- 128 Mb RAM (256 or more recommended)
- 10 Mb of free space hard disk space (30 Mb or more recommended)
- Sound card, speakers and microphone
- Internet connection (Broadband recommended)
Using a Headset
While it is possible to enjoy a Telephone Lesson using SKYPE and the internal microphone and speakers on your PC, we recommend using a simple headset to further increase the quality of your experience. Using a headset greatly increases the sound quality as well as helping to cut down noise from the environment that might otherwise get in the way of “hearing” which as you know is one of the crucial areas of any English Conversation Lesson. You do not need to invest in an expensive headset, they are available from most electronics stores and several even have a seal showing that they are SKYPE certified.
